California PATH: Partners for Advanced Transit and Highways
California PATH was established in 1986. It is administered by the Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS), University of California, Berkeley, in collaboration with Caltrans. PATH is a multi-disciplinary program with staff, faculty and students from universities statewide, and cooperative projects with private industry, state and local agencies, and non-profit institutions.

North Carolina ITRE: UNC Institute for Transportation Research and Education
ITRE is an inter-institutional research center administered by North Carolina State University. Located within the University's visionary Centennial Campus, ITRE conducts surface, water, and air transportation research, while providing professional training and educational opportunities.

Pennsylvania Transportation Institute
The Transportation Infrastructure Program (TIP) at the Pennsylvania Transportation Institute focuses on the analysis, design, behavior, and evaluation of transportation-related structures.

Texas Center for Transportation Research
The Center for Transportation Research (CTR) at The University of Texas at Austin, was established in 1963. Current and ongoing projects address virtually all aspects of transportation research, including economics, multimodal systems, traffic congestion relief, transportation policy, materials, structures, transit, environmental impacts, driver behavior, land use, geometric design, accessibility and pavements.

Texas Transporation Institute
The Texas Department of Transportation has conservatively estimated that the benefit-cost ratio of its research is in excess of 5:1. TTI has saved the state of Texas and the United States billions of dollars through strategies and products developed through its research program.
